Welcome
Domaine de Sengresse is a XVIIth Century Maison de Maitre offering luxury accommodation in a relatively undiscovered corner of South Western France. The main house offers four Chambre d’hote rooms while across the courtyard, The Little House offers a fifth and /or gîte accommodation.
Set in a park and garden of about three hectares, Sengresse is set in the heart of the Landes countryside only minutes from the River Adour, yet only 1 hour from Biarritz and Pau or 1 ½ from Bordeaux.
Sengresse is an ideal base for enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the area whether walking, cycling or just sitting under the trees in the summer or by a roaring fire in winter.
Before the Revolution Sengresse was owned by Count Bethune-Charrost, and later became the home of the enlightened 19th century French economist and libertarian, Frédéric Bastiat (www.bastiat.net). The Domaine was carefully restored during 2005-2007.As featured in Le Figaro Magazine, 4 April 2009
